Why did you join FCP? To share stories with audiences and volunteers, and help people to see the best in themselves.
What do you like best about FCP? The way it brings people together. The ways in which people see themselves in stories and characters, how they feel seen through stories on the stage, and how people can make life long memories and relationships through a simple play.

Position: Office Manager
Favorite Show: It’s hard to pick! Probably either Trail to Oregon or Amelie.
I started doing theatre in middle school. In my ten years of theatre, I have been in almost every position on and off stage. My favorite thing to do is costuming.
When I’m not at FCP I am making art, playing video games, or taking classes for an IT degree. I live with my wonderful fiancée Danielle and our cats, Cheez-It and Dorito.
How long have you been with FCP? I have worked at FCP for one year, and I've volunteered here for 3 years.
Why did you join FCP? I applied to work for FCP because I love the community here. It feels like home. Being able to use my skills to help that community thrive is a huge honor for me.
What do you like best about FCP? The best part of FCP and theatre in general is the community. Making art with other people is a beautiful thing.

Why did you join FCP? I've had a many great experiences with the shows I've been involved with at FCP. I enjoy the people I've got to meet and find it an overall lovely place to be.
What do you like best about FCP? My first show ever was at FCP in 2019 (La Cage). It made me aware of how amazing theater is, the people and the process combined. Ever since, I've been entranced by how magical the whole experience can be. Seeing all the pieces come together in the end is one my favorite things to witness.

Position: Chairperson
Favorite Show: Little Shop of Horrors (it's the show where I fell for my future husband)
I was born & raised in Flint, and have lived here most of my adult life. I love animals and plants, and have a house filled with both. I enjoy video games and sci-fi, and I'm kind of a Trekkie. Also, a fan of Bollywood, especially Shah Rukh Khan! I started acting in high school, and became enamored with it during college. Over the years I started helping paint sets with the man who became my future husband. I've volunteered in almost every job there is to do around FCP, acting, set painting, set design, sound design, worked the box office, ushering, running lights & sound, office work, costuming, and I've even done some building repairs. Eventually, my involvement turned to directing, with my first show in 2015, Dog Sees God. For a short while I was even the office manager. I joined the board in 2020. It's been an incredible responsibility, and I love it. I love the people. I love that there's always something new happening.
How long have you been with FCP? My first show with FCP was in 2001.
Why did you join FCP? I joined the board because I wanted to ensure the next generation of theatre lovers would get to enjoy what I have for so many years. I love being part of what makes the place keep ticking.
What do you like best about FCP? I love that anyone can find their home in theatre. Whether you're into performing, or you just want to hide in the tech booth, there's a place for everyone.

Position: Vice-Chair, President of Membership
Favorite Show: I'm not good at picking favorites. I'd settle for three? Little Shop, Avenue Q, and Sweeny Todd
I really love performing. I have been working with different community theatres consistently from 2009 to present day. I am currently enjoying singing with the Show to Go Singers in Clio- a show choir that sings at nursing homes in the spring. I am a mother of two young men who are almost seniors in high school. They have performed in many plays as well, a couple times on the FCP stage. I work as an environmental educator and gardener at For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum. I teach classes and fieldtrips about the natural world. I am also an MSU Master Gardener Volunteer. When I have spare time, I'm usually working outside, going for hikes, or taking pictures of cute bugs! I also have a wonderful partner and I don't think I could do all that I do without them.
How long have you been with FCP? I have performed with FCP since 2012 in the Marvelous Wonderettes- the last show from FCP to be performed at Bower Theater.. I have been serving on the board of directors for 6 years as President of Membership
Why did you join FCP? I was approached during a rehearsal of a show and asked if I'd be interested in running for Membership President. I hadn't thought much about it but knew I could contribute to FCP in a good way by joining the board. It also meant a lot to be asked by my peers.
What do you like best about FCP? love the freedom of expression you get from theatre. You're given words, but it's your job to transfer those words into body movements, expressions, and voice. No two people will perform the same way because we are all different, and that's beautiful.

Position: Treasurer, Chair of Trustees
Favorite Show: Tarzan
As a teen I served in multiple capacities: on stage, working lights and sound, in the pit, as a stage hand, ushering, and in the box office. I now prefer to be working behind the scenes crunching numbers, raising money, and in the box office. I was immersed in the cultural events around Flint as a youth. Mostly music and theater. I earned an education degree in the 70s and then spent 3 years in the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone. When I returned I got a job working at Mott Farm and met my husband there. Part of marrying him was becoming a farmer and moving to Otisville. I continued to work until around 2025 while also learning to drive semi trucks and helping around the farm. I now spend much of my time volunteering at Flint Community Players, Genesee Conservation District, the Michigan Association of Conservation Districts. I am the current treasurer of all three organizations. I enjoy crunching numbers and creating budgets. I recently joined the board of the Nartel Family Foundation. In my spare time I enjoy snowmobiling, walking, riding all terrain vehicles and helping my friends.
How long have you been with FCP? About 50 years with a break for college
Why did you join FCP? My parents had served on the board many times and I wanted to help FCP make the transition to new audiences.
What do you like best about FCP? I enjoy the variety of people who volunteer and who attend our performances

Position: Board Member
Favorite Show: It changes frequently, but right now Little Shop of Horrors once again takes the gold. Ride the Cyclone, cabaret, spamalot, into the woods are all top contenders as well
I’m a Flint native who’s been performing for as long as I can remember; basically since I learned that attention could be applauded. When I’m not on stage at the theater, I’m a florist of 11 years who firmly believes flowers and plants solve most of life’s problems. I live with my amazing partner, Mel, and our furry children: Katie, David, Jackson, and Pepper (who run the house, obviously). I have a degree in photography and love capturing moments, preferably dramatic ones, but flowers and people will do. If I’m not working or rehearsing, I’m probably making some kind of art project: sewing a costume, painting, sculpting, or creating something that absolutely took longer than planned. I also love camping, drag, and any opportunity to combine creativity, community, and a little bit of chaos.
How long have you been with FCP? 7 years
Why did you join FCP? I started as an actor then started to take on more and more volunteer tasks as time went on then I was invited to sit in on a board meeting. I wanted to help create incredible shows, and share the art of theater to as many people as possible. I joined as soon as I was able to and it has been incredibly rewarding!
What do you like best about FCP? I really love the community at FCP. I have met some of my closest friends here and enjoy spending time with people who are as passionate as I am

Favorite Show: My favorite show is "Ride the Cyclone." The acting and staging here just blew me away. I came in knowing nothing about the show and became a super fan.
I'm a high school English teacher who never outgrew being a drama geek. I have two amazing kids who restore my life in humanity daily.
How long have you been with FCP? This is my first year on the board, but so have been ushering for three years and house managing for one.
Why did you join FCP? I decided to join the board because I enjoy making things happen behind the scenes and want to make FCP a fun and safe place for all people.
What do you like best about FCP? I love seeing new people join a cast and then see them catch the acting bug and be in show after show.
