The Game’s Afoot
Ken Ludwig’s The Game’s Afoot rehearsals are well underway and going great! Join us this December for this hilarious holiday murder mystery! Tickets are available on our website now or by calling the box office at 810-441-9302
Raise a Glass Fundraiser
Help us bring the feast to life onstage! We’re raising funds for the many food and beverage props featured in our upcoming murder mystery The Game’s Afoot, and you can join in the fun.
Tier 1: $10 Donation
With a $10 contribution, you’ll receive a specially designed (non-glass) champagne or wine flute created exclusively for our fundraiser donors. You’ll also receive one free beverage of your choice at our concessions stand to enjoy with your new glass. During intermission, we’ll hold a special toast to our guests of honor, you! As you watch the show, you’ll know you helped fill the stage with the delicious delicacies featured throughout. Tier 1 donations close December 4, the day before opening night, so we can prepare your souvenir glasses in time.
Tier 2: $20 Donation
For $20, you’ll receive all of the Tier 1 benefits and be entered into a drawing for two free tickets to any performance of The Game’s Afoot. Tier 2 donations close December 3 so we can announce the winners before opening night.
All funds raised will go directly toward creating the onstage food and beverage props for The Game’s Afoot. Any remaining funds will support upcoming productions in our season, including Pipeline, Peter and the Starcatcher, and Firebringer.
Raise a glass with us and make the mystery even more marvelous! Click here to donate.
Volunteer Opportunities
Want to join in on the fun? Sign up to usher, sell concessions, or 50/50 tickets for our scholarships. No experience is necessary. We can teach you everything you need to know, and you can stay to see the show for free! Click here to sign up.

New Works Weekend
We are excited to present our New Works Weekend, which consists of staged readings of “Lam” and “Champagne Problems”, two brand new Michigan playwright written shows, performed January 8th-11th.
Auditions for our New Works Weekend are December 8th and 9th, 7-10pm. Auditions will consist of cold-readings of scenes from the shows. Find more information here.
We’re looking for a Stage Manager to join the New Works Weekend! This will be a performance with minimal tech cues and a strong emphasis on the written text. If you've wanted to try your hand at stage managing, but wanted to start small (or have stage managed before but would like a more relaxed show to tackle) this would be an excellent opportunity! If you are interested reach out to Zach Wood at zach@flintcommunityplayers.com
Holiday Cheer Party
Our second annual Holiday Cheer Party is coming up December 19th from 6-9pm, here at the Flint Community Players Building! This is a free event for everyone in 2025 who has been a part of creating the shows people loved so dearly. That includes actors, tech, band, ushers, committee members, and you of course! You can ABSOLUTELY bring partners and immediate family!
We will be having a hot chocolate bar, holiday snacks, live performances from some vocalists from this year's musicals, white elephant gifts available, a Holiday Sweater Competition, a slideshow of the many memorable moments of the year, and most of all a celebration of YOU and everyone else who made everything in 2025 possible!
Board Member Spotlight - Natalie Popadich
Natalie has been volunteering as an usher with FCP for the past three years and started house managing this past year. She found her love of theater by acting in high school and college. After college she could be found on stage at Buckham Alley Theater and at the Torch after! The closest she has come to the FCP boards is as her drag persona, Genna C. Valley, but she loves cheering on her eldest child Maxx and never says never to the right role. Her youngest, Lola, is content to add to the energy of the audience and that is what Natalie loves the most about house managing: seeing the dedicated friends, family members, and community add to the vibe of every show. As a board member, she hopes to add to the safe space that FCP provides while making the house a fully immersive, artistic experience.
Message From the Chairperson
Hi Friends! It’s your friendly, neighborhood chairperson here. I want to share with you some super-duper secret information. Okay, it’s not a secret, really. I just figured that would get you to read this.
Right now, the Genesee County Commissioners are debating whether or not the Arts & Education millage will be put up for renewal. It’s a big deal for us, and many other arts organizations around Genesee County. Naturally, we’d like to keep that millage going.
If you’ve worked on a show, sat in the audience at a performance, or enrolled your kid in one of our summer classes, you’ve seen that millage in action. Not only does it help us buy fun things like costumes and props, but it has allowed us to pay some really amazing local artists to design and direct our shows. We really enjoy making theatre for you. And with you.
And if you’ve visited any of the other theaters, galleries, or arts organizations in Genesee County in the last several years, then you’ve enjoyed the benefits of the Arts & Education Millage there too!
If you have a mind for calling or writing to your Commissioner on our behalf, well that would be swell. If not, well, think of us if/when it makes it to your ballot.
For now, read the rest of this newsletter. It’s fun. There’s some good stuff in here. Say hi to our newest board member, Natalie, if you see her around.
Cheers!
Tomoko Miller

Season Tickets
If you’ve come to more than one show in the past season, a Season Ticket may be right for you. Season Tickets give you 6 admissions to use anyway you like throughout the season. At $70, this saves you over $20 each season. With a purchase of a season ticket, you have the flexibility to come to every show, or you can save up your tickets to see a few shows multiple times, or even invite a few guests for a night out to a favorite play! Season Ticket holders also get their name in programs. Brand new this year, we’ve added the option to buy Season Tickets on our website. When you go to our website and click on “Tickets”, go to the “Season Tickets” tab and select your option. Once you’ve made your purchase you’ll get a coupon code to use to order your tickets for the shows of your choice.
AI Statement
Flint Community Players strives to support local, original artists, and we believe that the use of Artificial Intelligence does not align with this goal. Because of this, we will not allow any works at our theatre to be created by AI. All elements of our shows will remain 100% human created, as we believe humanity is the basis of art.
